Moscow Triangle an X Com problem?

Well, last year when i saw the footage of the Moscow Triangle something in my memory was twitching, a deep buried thought that has taken some time to surface.

Remember the X-Com series of video games? started with ‘UFO – Enemy Defence’ ? they where very popular when i was a teenager but the later game ‘X-Com Apocalypse’ is the one that was set in a city and in the introduction video there was a little sequence of a triangle appearing above a city. here is the video

anyway im not sure if its just me but there is something eerie about the whole video in relation to the Moscow event. 

China’s doctors breeding a super bug?

I know, its not funny to use sensationalist headlines but that’s what the Telegraph have done with this report

From reading the article that i have linked above it is easy to get the impression that china is a backward country with bellow standard health care. well…. have you notices how there have been allot of anti-china posts all across mainstream media over the fast few months?

could it be that China’s industrialisation and moves to integrate into the global commerce has upset some people?

Anyway, i have been distracted from the topic at hand. China according to this article has over used antibiotics, recklessly encouraging the growth of MRSA type bugs.

just a thought but lets assume they have not done any of this because after all the Telegraph quotes a Swedish doctor no one has ever heard of as evidence

there are quality health care plans available in China including this company http://www.china-healthcare.us/eng/ who seem to be very legitimate.

the idea of a super bug that will kill us all has been in the psyche of the world for quite some time, with movies like ‘I am Legend’ and ‘Resident evil’ showing us mutating virus’s that destroy the world as we know it and often create an almost alien race of infected, then there was the talks of a world plague that the TV show Heroes pushed forwards a while back with on of their ‘five years in the future’ episodes.

it looks to me that Hollywood and the news media are trying to firmly implant a fear of sickness into everyone and now China is going to be the next ‘movie’ to scare us all…. well, i don’t buy it, the Chinese are probably guilty of a great deal of things as are we all but to pump this kind of hate mongering speculation is just silly.

My point is, lets not bash them for this just yet, after all since the H1N1 circus has left town the media are looking for the next opportunity to print ‘The end is nigh’

Today I visited the George Eliot Hospital in the city of Nuneaton here in the UK.

Upon trying to get a parking ticket upon arrival i was greeted with a simple yet worrying message as the picture bellow shows.

My local Hospital, the place that my family would go in the even of an health emergency is in the middle of an outbreak of an RNA virus known as Norovirus, as soon as i returned home i checked the trusty internet for more information (link provided)

To be fair to the George Elliot hospital they do have a message on their home page regarding the issue.

it reads: “The Norovirus sickness and diarrhoea bug is currently prevalent in the community. Please help to minimise the risk of this spreading to our patients by refraining from visiting wards if you are feeling generally unwell, especially if you are suffering from diarrhoea or vomiting.”

I also found on the BBC news page a mention of the issue as well (only when i looked really hard that is)

now, my worry is that my local news paper did not report the issue, there was not a warning given to the person that i was taking to the hospital either. so, you really don’t know about it at all unless you are buying a parking ticket.

wikipedia (my source for all things factual, for better or worse) has this to say

“Severe illness is rare: although people are frequently treated at the emergency ward, they are rarely admitted to the hospital. The number of deaths from norovirus in the US is estimated to be around 300 each year, with most of these occurring in the very young, elderly and persons with weakened immune systems. Symptoms may become life-threatening in these groups if dehydration is ignored or not treated”

So, it kills 300 people each year in the US, correct me if i am wrong but if you take away those who had ‘underlying heath problems’ from the H1N1 deaths and i think you may find that the Norovirus is at least as worrying as swine flu, yet there's no talk of it my my local paper and there is no Tamiflu equivalent on offer (thank the maker)

here are some other quotes from the wikipedia article that i thought where worth pointing out

“Hand washing is an effective method to reduce the spread of norovirus pathogens. Sanitizing of surfaces where the norovirus may be present is recommended. Alcohol rubs are not very effective at dealing with Norovirus.” – that's comforting,

“the prevention of nosocomial infections involves routine and terminal cleaning.” – revolutionary advice, clean stuff!

A little more fringe for a moment

One of the other things that i noticed while reading about the Norovirus was that its ‘marketed’ as acute gastroenteritis that develops between 24 and 48 hours after exposure, however it is an RNA virus, and for anyone who is familiar with the writings of Micheal Talbot or even some of the newer David Icke books then you may recall that RNA is the tool that allows our DNA to decode the reality we live in, so isn’t an RNA targeting virus a worrying thing?

 

Tamiflu, pointless placebo or government provided killer? well, that's the topic on another post entirely but if you do some research you will find people who have already spoken in some depth about it (Alex Jones for one) my point is that the media could have latched onto this tiny little outbreak and screamed pandemic very easily, or is could have gone unnoticed or simply diagnosed by the hospital stall as a H1N1 outbreak instead.

Its interesting to see how things are handled by the media and by the NHS, but more importantly if its not safe to visit the hospital how is it safe to be in the care of the hospital?

Book Report: Valis, Philip K Dick.

Valis By Philip K Dick

I have literally JUST finished reading ‘Valis’. I have consumed it in just a few days. I do not read allot of fiction and would usually not write a ‘Book report’ about it but this is a little different, was first pointed in the direction of the book when listening to an interview with Neil Kramer on Red Ice Creations Radio.

The Book is something of an anomaly, I honestly could not go into any depth on it even if i tried but i would say that ‘Valis’ is not a science fiction book but instead it is a semi-fictional theological work where a character searches for an entity that may or may not be god.

the story moves through themes involving the duality of time, popular culture and mortality.

It is a heavy read and in places appears to make no sense, the sense however is occluded by the drip fed nature of the story. If your interest is in the nature of reality or searching for higher meaning then its an amazing read.

Best Fit Theology.

Best Fit Theology is the name i have given to a phenomenon i have began to notice in society.

I think its been around for a while now, but to be honest i am not sure, it would seem that rather than sitting down and having a good old think about the universe people would rather pick the religious system that best fits their life.

As you may have noticed i am breaking up the seriousness of this topic with random and amusing theological motivational posters. i think if anything this adds to the stoic nature of the message i am going to try and convey.

 

If you live in mainland England and come from one of those passively religious families you may consider yourself a member of the church of England or as is better known, a protestant.

if you come from a catholic family you will probably be less passive in your beliefs but still quite sure your soul is safe.

There maybe many Muslims, Jews, Hindus and Buddhists reading this but i have little experience in those faiths so i don't know for sure that you are all passively faithful and unquestioning. for the sake of argument I am going to assume if your honest that's probably how you are.

My quest here is to try and wake you up to something. and please excuse me here, as I am not a member of any religion (this will become clear later) and i think all of them are probably right. I think that belief in its most basic form is a wonderful thing. however i would like to ask a question.

Why do you think you are correct?

I know, its a bold question and whatever religion you are has thousands of years of history (maybe more, maybe less) and smarter people than I have been part of all of them.

I am not arguing that your system of faith is incorrect, or correct. i am simply asking you to have a go at seeing the other side.

if your a Christian (any one of the 30+ denominations that i am aware of) have you read the bible? have you read the work of the religious competition?

i think we owe it to our immortal soul to make sure its in safe hands. just because your family are sure that Jesus died for our sins why are you?

shouldn't you check, just make sure that your religion echoes love and salvation to YOUR soul?

 

I think that people, ALL people should read and learn and understand and question and never become blinkered by faith. its important in all religions to ‘love’ and what’s more loving than trying to understand, do you think any creator you may have will disapprove of a philosophical yearning that HE/SHE/IT put into you in the first place?

The native people of Australia talk of dreamtime, a concept that i am only familiar with in passing (at the moment, i will read more as soon as i have time) the basic idea as far as i understand is that the creator sends a part of himself to the earth to become a person and experience an epic story. then upon death that part of himself tells that story, then that shard may return to experience a new story or stay and be part of the creator again. its a wonderful idea, is it true? i don’t know but i would not tell some one they are wrong for believing this.

I heard a historian named John Anthony West say something the other day on a radio show i listen to that made me think. i can not remember the exact wording but he said this

If a life that lasts one minuet is born at night in a storm it will never know there is anything else, when he his told of a summers day he will this it is nothing but a legend.

yep, i think i nailed the basic point he was trying to make (my memory is rubbish when it comes to wordings, i remember the concept but not the wording)

The point he was trying to make was that even though you think you know everything about your reality its based on such as small moment in cosmic history that it may as well be that moment in a dark rainstorm.

 

There are many other more hip religions you should look into as well, granted some of them are bonkers. That faith of the Ceiling cat who is locked in an eternal battle with basement cat

Don't forget the secret cult of the Flying Spaghetti monster, and the crazy ‘Last Tuesdayism’

yes, there are many choices but why stop at one. but what ever your do, please have a think about it, and never tell anyone they are wrong, that's just rude.

So, I have prattled on for quite a few badly assembled paragraphs now, and bashed theological complacency for long enough.

you’re probably wondering what i believe by now. a while back (years in fact) i was thought i was a child of the pagan mysteries, then i thought that Buddha was a safe bet. Time passed and i followed the breadcrumbs of my ideas, threw some out, got some new ones and at this moment i think that the universe its self it a/the (G)god (not sure on capitalisation in my soul or in that sentence) i think that time is probably a lie and we are all part of it.

I also think that Bill Hicks had it pretty close when he said this back in 1989

“we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively. There's no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we're the imagination of ourselves”

I follow no religion so i have no bias. That being said i may have one one day, that's cool, after all in the end no matter what you think of your creator he still thinks your pretty cool, unless there isn't one, or he is you…. but you get my point.
