secrets on sale.

RHO-logohere we go.. i am about to write an objective and ranty article, i’'ll try not to but when freedom falls away like thawing ice i have to wonder why we put up with it.

Do you know what your civil liberty's are worth? well the high profile search engine and community tool provider Yahoo does, your civil liberty's are worth precisely $10.

oh, an i am not just saying this of course. here is the proof.

and the site that unearthed this little gem is here http://cryptome.org/0001/yahoo-cryptome.htm with all the little details.

you see all service providers are required my international laws to give out the details of their clients to the police upon request. so, next time you send an e-mail of give details to a sign up page for a service remember, your seeding a paper trail.

now, i am not against bringing criminals to justice, i think anyone who is committing a crime deserves to be caught but with the raised stakes for P2P file shares and copyright infringers being criminalised every day for using alternate services i have to worry.for just $10 an innocent e-mail could be used against you.

My point with this post is to raise awareness that your trusted ISP or mail host is not going to help you of protect you if the increasingly fascist styled thought police come sniffing, no, they are going to sell your privacy for just $10, we live in wonderfully liberated times, unfortunately the liberation of scum comes at the price of freedom for good and honest people.

Thanks yahoo!

(information origionally broke over at http://www.downloadsquad.com/ i hope they dont mind me borrowing the image, $10 and they can come arrest me)
